Message from the Dean
As always, I appreciate the opportunity to share my thoughts with the MPA membership.
As I recently reported, the Skaggs Building Addition is moving along well and the subcontractor doing the bricks and mortar, which was begun in June, has now completed that part of the project and we continue to be on track to finish early in 2007. The portion of the outside walls not covered with brick will have aluminum panels installed thereon; those have been ordered and should be installed in October.
The following information on the 2006 entering Doctor of Pharmacy class provides a profile of the successful applicants.

| Average GPA | 3.50 |
| Average PCAT Composite Score | 78th percentile |

| Average Age | 24 years with a range of 20 to 46 |
| Gender | 34 female and 31 male |
| Prior Degree | AA/AS 5, BS 19, MS 1 |
With respect to our pharmacy program's current research rankings, UM is sixth in total dollar awards from NIH for FY 2005 and fourth over this same time period measured by dollars per FTE faculty member. In the later instance, it is interesting to note that only pharmacy programs at three universities, those being the universities of California-San Francisco, Washington, and Kansas, are ahead of The University of Montana's ranking! That is tall cotton indeed!
Once again, the football season is upon us and should any members be in town for a game or for any other reason, please stop by the College and visit with us and take a look at some of our activities, especially our Skaggs Building addition project.
