Medicare Information for Pharmacists

Pharmacists must distribute notice beginning immediately to patients with prescription that are not covered by a Part D plan. While there is a 90 day implementation period allowed for compliance by plans (i.e. their contracted pharmacies) it is expected that pharmacies begin distributing this as soon as possible.

For questions concerning the standardized pharmacy notice, please send an email to: PartD_Appeals@cms.hhs.gov. Also, contact your system vendors (if applicable) to request that they automate the process (when a claim rejects – or is rejected by Part D and paid by a supplemental plan) the notice automatically prints.

Montana pharmacists need to inventory stock – effective January 11
